Scientific cooperations

Scientific cooperation

Our commitment to Poland began with the political opening of the East in the early nineties. Personal contacts with the Polish science and the universities soon showed that there was interest in a scientific and cultural exchange with Germany.

MRD established, agreed and coordinated contacts between the Polish Stomatological Society (PTS) and the German Society of Dentistry and Oral Surgery (DGZMK). In 2000 the first personal meeting between the Presidents and Vice Presidents of both companies was organized by Marian Rogowski Dental in Frankfurt am Main.

We pay special tribute to Professor dr hab. med dr hc Janusz Piekarczyk and Professor dr hab. med Eugeniusz Spiechowicz from the Warsaw Medical University for their outstanding, unselfish commitment to scientific cooperation between Germany and Poland in the field of dentistry, maxillofacial surgery and interdisciplinary areas.

Agreement

November 16-18, 2000 the DGZMK congress took place in Frankfurt am Main together with the German Periodontological Society and the Hessian Dentistry Chamber. The delegation of the Polish Stomatological Society with its president, Prof dr. Janusz Piekarczyk, and the Vice President, Prof. dr hab. Eugeniusz Spiechowicz, part. The aim of the Polish delegation was to decide on cooperation after previous discussions, guided correspondence and additional direct contact with the DGZMK.

During the bilateral talks, it was decided to keep the agreement for cooperation very general in order to create the opportunity to fill it with concrete content. The value of the agreement will depend on the energy and commitment of the parties they have chosen. The agreement was written in English, which will be the common language of communication between the German and Polish Stomatological Societies.

In addition, the following principles of cooperation have been adopted:

1. Mutual invitation of the delegations to the main congresses and conferences taking place in Poland and Germany.

2. Annual exchange of information on scientific congresses and conferences in the field of dentistry taking place in Poland and Germany.

3. Encourage the members of the respective professional societies to join the circle of the Polish-German-Stomatological Society, to establish mutual contact and to participate in scientific events.

4. Exchange and publication of information on the activities of the cooperating parties in the respective journals of the companies.

5. Creating websites reporting on the activities of both companies.

Obviously, the agreement between PTS and DGZMK is the first of its kind in the history of our societies. It is deliberately very general, so it can be filled out with various forms of cooperation. The development of Polish-German cooperation in the field of dentistry will depend mainly on the activities of our members. Germany is our closest neighbor, from whom we can learn a lot. At the same time, our achievements, ideas and experiences can be of interest to German colleagues.
The signing of the agreement of cooperation has created a chance for the members of the PTS which we must not waste.

We are grateful to thank Mr. Marian Rogowski from Frankfurt am Main for his help and commitment in achieving the agreement described above.
